Coming from the city of Sacramento, California residing in Atlanta, Georgia, Deshawn has rooted his music from authenticity and strong emotion from personal experiences. He began his musical journey after trying to motivate a friend, who he looked up to musically, to put music out. His creative style is influenced by the likes of Saba, Isaiah Rashad, Mick Jenkins, Drake, J. Cole, and many more who he grew up listening to. After releasing one of his first singles and receiving a lot of praise, Deshawn knew that music was more than just a means to motivate his friend. It was also something that would bring him closer to his purpose, his people, and would make expressing his feelings toward the world that much easier.
