About Demicat

Demicat is an electronic music producer / dj from Seoul, Korea. He creates a variety of beats and tunes based on his broad musical understanding. He began studying piano at the age of six and was affected by jazz, soul, funk, disco, and hip hop from an early age. He started dj at Hong-Dae(Seoul) in 2006, and his first release was "Nitakita" (including his earlier popular tracks "Life Streamin", "Last Train") in 2007. Due to this, he initially gained recognition as a jazz-hip hop producer. After that, "Acceptable Range" (in 2008), "Tomorrow Sucks" (in 2010), his full-length albums were released. Both albums contain more than jazz-hip hop (such as nu-jazz, broken beat, and house). So far, he have collaborated with C-Luv, Beenzino, Sean2slow, Pento, Smells, Sistar, and so on. Also he began live performance with a combination of his own keyboards and djing since 2008. He played with a few sessions together, such as guitar, percussions. It had a form like a band, and it was more than just dj set. On Sep 2013, Demicat released the "Out Loud EP" on "Foundation Records(Korea)". The release was seen by a turning point in his production, gradually moving away from the jazz-based tunes of his earlier music and displaying a wider range of styles. It contains 80's electro, glitch hop, nu disco, dubstep, etc, and guest vocals by Koonta(from Rude Paper), Neon Bunny(front-runner of Korean synth-pop) were involved.
