About Dead Against The Rest

They're now known as Echoes Of The Dead From The Rhonda Valleys Dead Against The Rest started playing a handful of gigs back in the summer of 2003. Just a group of mates with the same passion and drive for good old fashion rock & roll. It wasnt until the summer of 2006 that people started to stand up and really take a good look at the band and really see what they are all about. With a couple of changes in the line up it was't long until the band were playing sold out gigs in Cardiff and demand for them to play in cities around the UK was at a high. They quickly signed a managment deal with RIR Managment, which opened up a whole new audience for the band. Their single Enough's enough quickly topped many internet based download charts, and gained a wide range of airplay right across the globe. With booking agents trying to book the band for festival slots from America to Holland. 2007 started off with a bang for Dead Against The Rest, with tour after tour, studio time and constant writing, it seemed the band were going to be snapped up and signed by the summer. But as ever with any touring band, it comes with its fair share of problems and all the true cliches of sex, drugs and rock and roll took its toll on the band. Dead Against The Rest split at the beginning of 2010 after years of battling the cold across the country in the back of the van, playing from North to South on a daily basis, supporting some major bands along the way. Filling venues across Wales and England, plus a sold out tour of Scotland and a very strong set at HRH 3 in 2009, the band secured 2 shows in Texas early 2010 at the SXSW festival with backing from Classic Rock, Total Rock and Metal Hammer, but as always, all good things come to an end, and the band never made it state side. Shtaq went off around the world while Lyo joined a metal band from the South West. Blood, Sweat and tears seemed to be the thing of the past.
