About De Selskapssjuke
In 2014, our beloved Joachim Nielsen would have turned 50 years old, and in the spring of that year, vocalist Ashe Draven sent a message to his trusty guitar slinger Christian Lie, which read roughly as follows: "Ey, Jokke would have turned 50 in September, wanna gather some people and pay a little tribute to him?" No sooner said than done, and with a full band in place, supplemented by André Solberg (co-lead vocals), Sindri (guitar), Christian Jeremiassen (bass) and Ole Teigen (drums), the band filled Fiasco to the brim with eager Jokke fans that autumn . Another year went by, and the collective rock foot started to twitch again, and once again a sold-out Fiasco became the scene of the band's unconditional tribute to the rock poet. After this, there were more and more concerts, and eventually also changes to the line-up. But, always with musicians with backgrounds from the rock and metal milieu in Oslo, which makes the sound of De Selskapsjuke somewhat heavier and more riff-based than Jokke's own. At the same time, they stay close enough to the originals to retain the atmosphere in the universe of one of Norway's best songwriting talents.
