About Dark Selecta
David Preston first found his love of turntables at the age of 15 ( 1999). In the following early years David would DJ under two aliases- DJ Synthetik, and DJ SYN. In June- 2008, David released an experimental demo EP on i tunes, exploring different sounds and styles of music- and for one of the first times- used the alias, Dark Selecta. Highlights of David’s DJ resume include winning a spot on the new talent stage @ The World Electronic Music Festival 2006, the TR stage @ WEMF 2007. Locally- multiple Souljah sessions, proper dubplate and raw beats radio appearances , and many local shows around the Kitchener-Waterloo-Guelph area.
