About Dark Sparks
Dark Sparks are a band of five young men from Sheffield. Musically in tune they write dark pop (master) pieces that are occasionally violent and always emotive. The new line-up is in its infancy but they’re already starting to turn heads. Recent single We Are Just Flies was played on Kerrang Radio where DJ Alex Baker declared: “They’re like an art rock horror show – I love Dark Sparks!” They have also been making (air) waves on BBC Radio Sheffield. Constant rotation of We Are Just Flies led to a live session and interview with DJ Iain Hodgeson and they were chosen to represent the city in a special showcase at the famous O2 Academy. Their set from the night will be played out in full on BBC Radio Sheffield in December and sent on to Radio 1 and 6Music via the BBC Introducing network. Review sites and bloggers have declared Dark Sparks “deserving of a slavering fanbase” , “exemplary dramatic indie rock” and “darkly brilliant” while support slots with bands like Good Shoes, Grammatics, We Were Promised Jetpacks, Blood Red Shoes and Red Light Company have boosted their profile.
