About Dangerous Ponies

Dangerous Ponies was a 7 piece band from Philadelphia, PA formed in 2008. Their members consist of Chrissy Tashjian (Vocals, Guitar), her brother Mikey Tashjian (Drums), Evan Bernard (Vocals, Guitar), Chris Baglivo (Vocals, Bass), Sarah Green (Keyboard, Vocals, Hype), Kyle Pulley (Guitar), and Brooks Banker (Keyboard, Vocals, Hype). The Ponies' music is positive dance hall rock that incorporates 60's and 70's pop songwriting sensibility. In addition to their growing focus on elaborate guitar arrangement, the band is recognized for their inclusion of two garishly dressed hype-people who wield tambourines and interact with the audience during their shows. High-energy live performance was a main facet of the band's personality, as well as their distinction as a queer and allied band. To date they have released 2 EPs: Dr. Ponie Medicine Ponie (2009), Tenderheart (2013) and a full length self titled album (2011). They were associated with Philadelphia independent label Punk Rock Payroll back in 2011. Their last show was on May 26, 2013.
