About DanWilde

DanWilde started DJing as a hobby in 1990, mainly playing Hip - Hop and UK Raggamuffin. Around the same time he fronted a live four piece band, that did not last for long, however, out of that came an outfit called X E DOS SOCIETY . Two MCs, a second hand AMIGA 500, and a bass player (who only lasted two gigs!). The emerging illegal rave scene had lured him in, and spent many a weekend in motorway service station car parks waiting for maps/tip offs for the next big night, and many Mondays in the local record shop trying to buy what he’d heard. During 1991 DanWilde secured a few DJ residencies in and around Essex. Often dragging round his new AMIGA 600, playing tracks and dropping samples over the mixing. Sometime around 92/93 he was approached by a newly formed band called SZEKI KURVA. They were looking for a scratch DJ/Programmer to complete their line-up. Two EPs and a LP, another upgrade to an AMIGA 1200, and many in-house fights later THE FIGHTING COCKS were born. After a brief time signed to RCA RECORDS (one single - W**K**S!!) they started to release our own material on FGZ RECORDS. First up was ’Come and See’ an eleven track LP, and just about to be followed up by ’Music For Lapdancers’ a twenty track LP. Touring with The Fighting Cocks opened up many European DJing opportunities in Germany and Hungary and here in the UK. With all of this going on, his own production moved to the back burner, but the flame never went out. He continued to hone his skills, and now has an extensive back catalogue of work-in-progress that is slowly getting polished. The first of these tracks are now available on the six track DnB EP ‘Discords in a Refined and Pleasant Life’ (inc. ‘I Believe’). Just on mail order CD at the moment from his own FIERCE BUSINESS RECORDS. Next up will be either ’The Heat X Changer EP’ (inc. ‘Shizzle Mi’), more DnB, or, ‘DanWilde - Puts on the Breaks’ (inc. ‘Equal in Life, Equal in Love’), a collection of mid tempo beats and bass. It all depending on which is finished first. In June 06 DanWilde was asked by TOP CAT to remix a TENOR FLY track called ’Ghetto Youth Must Survive’ which appears on the 10 track LP ’Two Veterans - Tenor Fly meets Top Cat’ available on CAT O NINE RECORDS. At present he has just finished a mix for the 586s, and co - runs a weekly club night ’Sunday Sessions’ @ The Deck, Perranporth, Cornwall, UK with DJ Finn.......
