Damirbek Olimov (Tajik: Дамирбек Олимов; b. March 20, 1989 – d. February 5, 2022) was one of the most famous artists in Tajikistan who sang in the retro style. A master of Tajik culture. Damirbek was born on March 20, 1989 in Devashtich District, Sughd Region, Tajikistan, in the family of singer Boturjon Olimov. After graduating from high school in 2004, he studied at the art institute named after Sodir Khan Hafiz in Khojand. He started his singing career in 2009. He worked in the "Nuri Khojand" shashmakom ensemble under the direction of Jurabek Murodov, and at the same time in the "Voice of Sughd" ensemble. Damirbek's popularity started in 2011 when he sang the song "Zulfoni Mayda Dori" in Chakomai Gesu. Later, the duet "Jon Bachai Khola" sung together with Nigina Amonkulova was loved not only in Tajikistan, but also by fans from Samarkand and Bukhara, Uzbekistan. Also, the song "Mavrigi" has become very popular. Yulduz Turdiyeva and Bahrom Nazarov performed this duet on Sevimli TV. Later, he became famous with the song "Dunyo". On February 5, 2022, Damirbek was returning from a wedding ceremony around 1:40 am and lost control of the vehicle. After the car overturned, he died on the spot. His body was buried in Abu Bakr Siddiq mausoleum in Devashtich district. Damirbek Olimov was married, the father of 2 sons and 1 daughter.
