DJ XZ32
About DJ XZ32
Bram Coppens, aka XZ32, started dj’ing around the millennium. After years of interest in electronical music, he decided it was time to do something with it. Starting of with mixing techno, his style evolved to electro and breakbeat, later making the switch to drum n bass. Everything of his young career started in JHT- headquarters, where he got his first bookings. Underground techno and drum n bass where popular at this location, and this is where he met dj Border, a drum n bass dj. Playing at the same parties for several times, XZ32 got inspired by the style of Border’s music. After a while he decided to put an end to the techno period and started buying his first dnb records. Border and XZ32 decided to form a dnb crew, and “Resolution” was founded. This crazy duo played mostly in the Brussels - Ghent area. They also left their signature on other cities and towns in Belgium. Together they also started organising small free parties named after their crew at the JHT headquarters. This is also where XZ met D-Lux, who became part of the crew later. XZ32 got into touch with Nemesis from Dacru ( www.dacru.be ), a psytrance/dnb organisation around 2002. Beeing in the same class, XZ and Nemesis became good friends and shared the same feeling about electronical music. After a while Nemesis decided to make Border and XZ32 residents and part of the Dacru organisation.Dacru always believed in their skills and gave them a chance to play at bigger parties. XZ32 started mixing more and more with D-Lux, another dnb dj from the same area. Because they had the same style and thoughts about dnb, XZ32 wanted him to join the crew. This is when “320Db”-crew was born, a new techy, neurofunk dnb dj crew with the 3 members Border, D-Lux and XZ32, also a part of Dacru. Some memorable moments of XZ32’s career include the open air festivals Step-One and Rock Ternat, the Dacru series with Dylan, Technical Itch and Chris Su, and recently John B, Teebee and Illogic, mixing in Hamburg, Germany in november 2004, playing in Posen and Warsaw, Poland in the beginning of 2005, and last but not least the Dacru Tour of 2005 trough Poland (Posen, Wrocław, Zielona Góra and Gdansk) in september and october of 2005. XZ’s style has evolved to technoid-, maybe even a little psychedelic drum'n'bass. Labels as Hostile, Shadow Law, DSCI4, Subtitles, BSE, Nerve, Leet, Commercial Suicide, Shadybrain, Kinematic,... as well as exclusive tunes by wellknown and upcomming producers in the scene. D-Lux and XZ32 also host a weekly show on Jungletrain ( http://www.jungletrain.net ) bringing their newest tunes in a pounding 2hour set, occasionally joined by Border. XZ also takes care of the Dacru promomixes. XZ32 also started producing drum and bass tunes. The first release is planned for early 2006, a collaboration between XZ32 and the Russian producer Flame. The tune is named “Common Sense” and will be released on the Australian mp3 label “Kinematic Recordings” (http://www.kinematicrecordings.com).
