DJ Ama, pronounced [ah-mah], is the first half of her name (Amanda). It means "loves" in the feminine form of Spanish. For example: "Amanda ama musica" means "Amanda loves music." DJ Ama decided to start DJing after a trip to Ibiza inspired her. She purchased her first turntable in January 2007, using a program called Serato Scratch Live to mix using only one turntable. DJ Ama says she has "a curiosity and an obsession with house music. It's a great hobby that makes me happy and challenges me. I also love sharing great tunes with people!"
