About Czecho No Republic
Czecho No Republic (チェコ・ノー・リパブリック, Cheko Nō Ripaburikku) is a Japanese band. Their album Santa Fe reached the 19th place on the Weekly Oricon Albums Chart and their singles "For You" and "Oh Yeah!!!!!!!" reached the 24th place on the Weekly Oricon Singles Chart. "Oh Yeah!!!!!!!" was also the third ending song for the second season of the Dragon Ball Kai anime television series. Their single "Forever Dreaming" is the fourth ending theme for Dragon Ball Super. The band was formed in 2010 by former Veni Vidi Vicious members Yusin Takei and Shotaro Yamazaki. The band was originally formed as a way to fill the gaps in the band's schedule after it went on hiatus, and the members themselves only thought of it as a kind of after-party. The band's name "Czecho" was chosen because it sounds nice and represents the musical direction they aspire to. Masami Takei (vocals, bass) Shōtarō Yamazaki (ex. Romance) (drums) Kazuki Sunagawa (guitar) Mai Takahashi (guitar, synthesizer, vocals) Past members Adimu Yoshida (guitar) Rui Yagi (guitar, synthesizer, chorus) ------------- Masami Takei ( vocals and bass ) Former bassist of Veni Vidi Vicious and former support bassist of The Mirraz . He is the central figure of the band , responsible for writing the lyrics and composing most of the songs . Roots music is by The Strokes [ 2 ] . The artist that got him into music was Spitz . When he was in junior high school, he saw them on a music program and thought, "I want to start a band too," and as he listened to various kinds of music from then on, he discovered punk , which changed his values drastically. He was a big fan of Hiroto Komoto and Masatoshi Majima , and started listening to the music genres that they liked and the songs of bands he admired, and there was a time when he thought, "Anything but punk is cool," and "Using an acoustic guitar is uncool" [ 3 ] . He wrote his first original song when he was in high school. A bandmate at the time played some random chords on the guitar and Takei added the melody . The result was a pop-punk song similar to the Ramones . He didn't write any songs after that, but he started writing again when he was in his previous band, and he first played them for people when Czech started their activities . [ 3 ] During her high school days, her trademark was red hair, and she was also a member of the rugby club for three years. In May 2014, he held a solo live show entitled " Takei, who was fired from his AX drinks part- time job, is finally back as a performer! The first and last! Takei's AX return gig ! ~And on to legend~" [ Note 1 ] . When he was the bassist for Veni Vidi Vicious, he had an afro . His favorite foods are natto , pickled ginger , and xiaolongbao . He was the only member to appear on every episode of Czecho No Republic's All Night Nippon 0 , which ran from April 2014 to March 24, 2015. He is close friends with R Fujimoto , whom he met on the show. On July 7, 2019, he announced that he had married Takahashi Mai, a fellow band member. Shotaro Yamazaki (ex. Romance) ( drums , chorus ) Former drummer of Veni Vidi Vicious. His roots music is Deerhoof [ 2 ] . They are big fans of THE YELLOW MONKEY , and in October 2015, they performed as Kazuya Yoshii 's backing band at Fujisonic 2015. [ 4 ] One day, he overslept and missed the band's studio practice. Later, as punishment, he cut off his beloved long hair and shaved his head on stage at a solo live show at SHIBUYA-AX in May 2014. This was also meant as an antithesis to the discomfort felt by the members at the time when some had described Czecho No Republic as a "sparkly band of beautiful men and women." Incidentally, it was guitarist Sunagawa who cut his head with the clippers. He used to work at a cake shop and can decorate message plates. He made welcome boards for live shows by writing on candy with a chocolate pen, and when he appeared at COUNTDOWN JAPAN 2012, he wrote a similar message on the cake to surprise Takei on his birthday (CNRMAGAZINE Vol.2, CNR blog written by Takei Yusin). On January 7, 2016, during the Ustream program "Czecho No Republic's Yappa Hagashi Desho", Shotaro Yamazaki changed his name to Romance. After that, whenever he started smoking while quitting smoking, he would change his name. Kazuki Sunagawa (guitar and chorus) He joined the band as a support member in August 2012. He officially joined in January 2013. He was a former member of Caroline Rocks. He also worked as the vocalist and guitarist of the band The sisi. When Adim Yoshida left the band, Sunagawa, who was a drinking buddy of Czecho No Republic's manager, asked him to join the band. His roots are in THE DRUMS [ 2 ] . He is a big fan of THEE MICHELLE GUN ELEPHANT , and his guitar cutting is influenced by Abe Futoshi [ 4 ] . His favorite instrument is a Fender Japan Telecaster . It is called the "JV Serial" and was made in 1984. It has an alder body and a rosewood fingerboard , which is the standard specification. The bridge has been changed from a 3-string to a 6-string to match the octave tuning . He is the mood maker of the band and the one who gets teased. In "Czecho No Republic's All Night Nippon 0", he appears as many characters , such as Sunagawa-sensei, Hawaiian Tetsuya, the popular DJ, and Dokugasu-kun. The nickname "Sunagawa-sensei" became established especially from the beginning of the program, and a Sunagawa-sensei voice keychain was distributed as a bonus for the first limited edition of "Oh Yeah!!!!!!!" . He is a black belt in karate (according to Czecho No Republic's All Night Nippon 0). Takahashi Mai (chorus, vocals, guitar, synthesizer, percussion ) He joined as a support member in August 2012 and officially joined in January 2013. Besides her work as an artist, she also works as a model . At her live shows in the Czech Republic, there are female fans who pay homage to Takahashi's style. Her roots music is Mum [ 2 ] . She loved singing from an early age, and looked forward to singing classes at school. The artist that first got her into music was Shiina Ringo, whom she discovered in the sixth grade of elementary school . She was shocked because she had never heard of her music before, and began listening to Radiohead , Asai Kenichi , Bjork , and other artists introduced by Shiina. Around the same time , she also became interested in fashion , and when she saw her cousin, who was seven years older than her, wearing vintage clothes inspired by Zipper magazine , she thought they looked cool, and became interested in unique clothing. However, her parents were very strict, so she would sneak out to Harajuku to shop alone . [ 3 ] He started writing songs when he was in high school. At the time, he liked listening to garage rock such as THEE MICHELLE GUN ELEPHANT . He also formed a band with all-male members. He was the vocalist of the band and played songs with a screaming feel. [ 3 ] [ 4 ] The band broke up when he was 18, and after that he sang alone for a while . [ 5 ] She has been friends with Takei since they were 18 years old. After Czecho No Republic released their first mini-album "erectionary" exclusively at Tower Records , an acquaintance introduced her to Takei, who was looking for a female vocalist. Since then, she has participated as a chorus singer in all of their works, starting with their first indie single "Casually" [ 3 ] . At the time, he had been offered a major debut as a solo singer by another company , but he was worried that he would not be able to perform the music he wanted to play in this environment. After consulting with Takei and his friend Bōmi , he decided to scrap his solo debut plans and join Czech [ 3 ] . Past members Yoshida Adim (guitar) Joined in April 2010. Left on August 25, 2012.
