About Crooked Mouth

Crooked Mouth is the name of two projects, the first a Canadian musician from Victoria, BC. and the second a Scottish musician from Edinburgh. Both projects' names are originate from their shared surnames. The surname "Campbell" is of Scottish origin, and is the combination of two Gaelic words "cam", meaning 'crooked', and "beul" which means 'mouth'. Together the name translates to Crooked Mouth. 1. Crooked Mouth was founded by Ian Campbell in western Canada in 2012, CROOKED MOUTH has developed their own style of post-industrial folk music, blending influences from the original neofolk wave, with the obscurities of 60/70s acid folk, archaic folklore groups, post-punk music, and the contemporary underground. https://crooked-mouth.bandcamp.com/album/cosmic-folklore 2. Crooked Mouth is the studio project of Edinburgh-based guitarist /songwriter Ken Campbell. When this sad old strummer gets together with a select & talented bunch of musos & warblers strange sounds can be heard. Sometime around 2003 these sounds were captured on their debut "Crooked Mouth". The follower "Hold In The Sun" was released in 2007. A new album is in progress for release somewhere in 2010.
