About Cozy Street Corner
When six high school friends from Bogor got together in 1996 to form this group, they mostly played with other bands at small campus gigs or wrote jingles for television. Since then, COZY STREET CORNER has slimmed down to three members and taken on a sound of its own. They created their own label in 1999 in order to release their first album “Cozy.” Their unique sound led to a number of reviews that described their sound as everything from “Indonesian folk” and “easy listening” to ethnic and “musik alam,” or natural music. The members themselves find it difficult to choose a category, stressing instead that their goal is to create an “atmosphere that is warm and cozy.” They released “Nirmana” in 2003 but many listeners still struggled to find the right description.
