About Coolangubra

Coolangubra are an Australian trio taking their name from a highly-forested area in New South Wales, Australia that they were campaigning to save. Consisting of Cleis Pearce (violin & viola), Stephen Berry (guitar) and Greg Sheehan (percussion), Coolangubra draw on folk, jazz, new age and world music to create a fusion sound that is highly improvisational sounding at times. They were formed in 1989, and released three albums on the Celestial Harmonies label: 'Storm Coming', 'Coolangubra' and 'Spirit Talk'. Breaking up sometime in the 1990s, Coolangubra reformed in the 2000s and started touring again, also releasing the EP 'Tales from the Ancestors' in 2006.
