About Consort Brouillamini

Atypical, daring and dynamic, the Consort Brouillamini is a group of five talented recorder players from the CNSMD in Lyon. The ensemble has twice won prizes in international competitions, both from the jury and the public: 1st prize in the International Competition of the Journées de Musiques Anciennes de Vanves in 2016, the public prize for the entire 2014/2015 musical season at Musée en Musique in Grenoble and 1st prize and public prize at the International Early Music Competition in Gijón (Spain) in 2012. Their first CD "Flutes in Fugue" released in May 2018 devoted to their own transcriptions of works by Johann Sebastian Bach won the "Clic" of the web media "Classiquenews" of the months of May/June and was praised on various occasions on France Musique as well as on France Inter, Europe 1, RCF and Radio Clásica. It has also received two rave reviews in the magazine "Le Monde" and the web-magazine "Opus HD". Their second CD on the Paraty label 'The Woods so Wild' (distribution Hamonia Mundi) will be available in spring 2020 and will be dedicated to consort playing in England from the Renaissance to Purcell. The ensemble also pays particular attention to contemporary repertoire. In February 2019, it will record a new work by Sirah Martínez Alvarez for France Musique, which will be broadcast in the programme "Création Mondiale" presented by Anne Montaron. He is planning other collaborations with contemporary composers, including the young and talented Benjamin Attahir. The Consort Brouillamini performs regularly in France: Jeudis Musicaux de Royan, Festival d'Auvers-sur-Oise, Sinfonia en Périgord, Toulouse les Orgues, Les Musicales de Guil Daurance, Festival Format Raisins, Festival des Festes Baroques, Festival de Valloire, Festival de Sablé sur Sarthe, Bach en Combrailles? Gijón (Spain), Ecchi Lontani festival in Cagliari (Sardinia), Muzyka w Raju (Poland). Based on the study of ancient treatises, the ensemble aims to rediscover a living musical practice of the 16th and 17th century repertoires. By offering their own transcriptions of masterpieces of baroque and classical music, the Consort offers varied and original programmes that transport the listener into unexpected sonic landscapes.
