Compton Effekt

About Compton Effekt

In September 2002 Sebastian Hoffmann and Holger Jansen started their apprenticeship together at a telecommunication company in Düsseldorf (Germany). They got good friends and after a while the idea to found a music band was born. So they started in March 2004 with Compton Effekt. The band name has got two significances. Firstly it is a physical process, observed by Arthur Holly Compton in 1923, for which he earned the 1927 Nobel Prize in Physics [Compton effect (English Wikipedia) / Compton Effekt (German Wikipedia)]. Secondly it is a mix of the German words Computer, Ton and Effekt [computer, tone and effect]. Their first publication was the CD Incipiency in August 2005. The CD was limited to 15 pieces and just for close friends. The CD with 22 tracks is the compilation of their first songs from March 2004 to August 2005 and some older tracks from Sebastian Hoffmann. In August 2005 Compton Effekt was quite happy to be part of the Sampler State of the heart - the sound of VIP-Nation with their song Bad Dream (VIP-Nation Version). The Sampler was published in October 2005. Now CE is working on new tracks and preparing their first concert...
