Look, over there! Has the kosmiche spacecraft graced us with its presence and touched down in Siracusa, Italy? Concluding such may be understandable at first, but this recently formed duo has so much more to offer than recalling a yesteryear that never was. Delfo Catania (guitar, percussion, etc) and Carlo Matanza (synthesizers) have spent their time in ancient Sicily honing their vision while never losing sight of the reverie that is the impetus of this voyage. With brief cameos by Shirin Demma (providing vocals on Part One) and Caetano Firlito (adding some saxophonic shading to Part Two), Comet III are poised to lead you on a journey to the beyond. “ The name Comet III comes from an old camera manufactured by Bencini of Milan over 50 years ago. The group was born from the friendship and musical understanding between Delfo Catania and Carlo Matanza. It is an electro-acoustic project in which Carlo unfolds his art with various synthesizers (Minimoog Voyager, organ, theremin, g2 and more) while Delfo works with the acoustic guitar (6 and 12 strings) and electric guitars (drone and reverberated), bamboo flute, field recordings, magnetic tape, sitar, and self made instruments. Astral Voyager is a trip around far nebulas and planets, described perfectly by the pulsations of the moog.”
