About ColouringIN

ColouringIN are the unlikely lovechild of Love Minus Zero head honcho Tom Neville and opera singer turned electronic-upstart Henry Bennett – a curious collaborative whose effortlessly eclectic melodies are set become the sound of 2009. As the New Year beckons ColouringIN’s eagerly anticipated debut album sampler is ready for release. A remarkable fusion of Henry’s classical training and Tom’s house production pedigree, their unique brand of future-romance-pop pays homage to artists like Depeche Mode and has drawn comparisons with Hot Chip and LCD Soundsystem, but yet still remains refreshingly original. Tracks range from the soulful to the deliciously sleazy, but always with a raucously infectious beat. The duo first crossed paths in the musical maelstrom of Shoreditch in 2005, and a one-off jam session spawned two years of prolific experimentation. Their collaboration was an immediate success – limited vinyl-only release ‘Robot Restroom’ was laid down at their first studio session, and sold out within 24 hours of its release in September 2007. ‘Robot Restroom’ infected dancefloors across Europe, from Fabric to Space and Berlin’s Watergate, hitting the airwaves on Radio 1 and causing fervour on the blogosphere. The turn of this year saw their debut live outing as they join BuggedOut! in Bristol on a remarkable bill alongside the likes of Jesse Rose and Hot Chip – testament to their future heavyweight status. With an EP set for release in 2009, and their debut album already attracting attention from major and indie labels alike, ColouringIN will be commandeering a club near you very soon…
