About Codeine Like Candy
CLC is an established two-piece Auckland band made up of Amber Cadaver(vocals and programming), Sarah Cadaver(guitar) and Jason Cadaver(lead guitar). They have recently made great progress, writing and recording brand new material which features on their newly released EP 'Surgeries for Enemies' as well as being seen consistently in the number 1 position on MySpace Top Artists in their genres for NZ. Members have been in various Industrial, Rock, Metal and Trip Hop bands in NZ, AU, UK and USA. Their unique sound has most people describing them as a love child of Nine Inch Nails and Portishead as they combine Industrial Rock with dark Trip-Hop and catchy female vocals. In June 2007 the band gained momentum when their track 'Idle Hands' was picked by Lip-Service. com to be their number 1 track and Featured Artist. Since then, CLC have finished off and released their debut EP, filmed their first music video, put mp3's online for sale through Amplifier, distributed their single 'Idle Hands' to various radio stations throughout NZ and have started to gather a loyal following. This spring/summer will have CLC playing shows in and around Auckland and the North Island of NZ. In May 08, CLC gained momentum when they were chosen by the Lip-Service.com soundtrack to be their Featured Artist for the month. November 08 CLC opened for the Headless Chickens to start off the Chickens 10 year reunion tour which was a great honor for CLC as they will openly plug HC as being one of their main influences. In 2009 CLC have teamed up with Stargate, a company who created legal highs like "party pills" available and educate people on the difference between drug use and drug abuse. They develop innovative technology to reduce demand for illegal drugs and reduce harm to users by developing safer drug alternatives.
