About Christoph Wolfgang Druckenmüller

Christoph Wolfgang Druckenmüller (1687 - 1741) was a German composer and organist who came from an extensive family of organists. His grandfather was Georg Wolfgang Druckenmüller. His father Johann Jacob Druckenmüller was organist in Ratzeburg and in Norden at the then newly built Schnitger organ. Presumably he also received his musical education in the family environment. In 1707 he became organist in Jork in the "Old Country" and in 1730 was appointed cathedral organist in Verden (Aller). He held this office until his death. His works, among others three organ concerti in three movements, are preserved in the so-called "Husum Organ Book".
