Julie Crochetière was born July 10, 1980, in Montreal. She is a singer, songwriter, pianist, and arranger, who became famous as a part of the girl group Sugar Jones, formed on the first Canadian version of the television series Popstars. After the band split, Crochetière released her first EP, Café[, which led to appearances at many prestigious jazz festivals. In 2008, she released her first full-length album, A Better Place. The single Precious Love hit #18 in Canada. Crochetière’s fourth solo release, Counting Dreams, was nominated in the Vocal Jazz Album category in the 2015 Juno Awards.
