About Chemical Transport
Chemical Transport is a four piece Australian rock band hailing from the city of Sydney. The band was formed through the friendship of childhood mates Arthur Adam (Vocals/Guitar), Mitch Links (drums) & Ramzi Hajjar (bass). Looking extremely cool wearing an array of band shirts ranging from Nirvana to Limp Bizkit the three would often find themselves confined to a small bedroom in Mascot jamming and playing as loud as they could in vein of their favourite 90’s grunge and nu-metal bands. They met Jack Nisbet (lead guitar) in high school and without any prior guitar knowledge, took him up to the music rooms one particular lunchtime and made him learn guitar, as Chemical Transport were in need of another guitarist. Jack was a natural and since their graduating year of 2008 Chemical Transport has been sweating it out on stages in an abundance of pubs and venues alike conveying what some would call a pop and at times progressive outlook on alternative rock. Through strenuous rehearsal and consistent live performances, 2010 saw the band sign to independent label ‘New Justice Records’ and released their first EP titled ‘We’re Not Alone.’ Although the EP showcased the band in its earliest stages the release proved promising for Chemical Transport with two tracks ‘The Plan’ and ‘Down, Down’ receiving high rotation and held the top 10 position on Austereo's Radar Radio (Triple M) for three months. Since the release of ‘We’re Not Alone’ the group has opened for the likes of Switchfoot (US), Senses Fail (US), MM9 (AUS), 28 DAYS (AUS), Snob Scrilla (AUS/US) and an intimate acoustic set with MXPX’s Mike Herrera (US). Continuing their momentum into 2011, the twenty year olds have recently toured the country with Seattle rock outfit The Classic Crime (US) on their recent Australian stint and were part of Easterfest 2011 held in Queensland’s Toowoomba alongside acts such as Switchfoot (US) Emery (US) & Michael Paynter (Aus). This August will mark the release of Chemical Transport’s follow up single to the ‘We’re Not Alone’ EP. ‘Seconds Away’ will be available for FREE download in mid-August and will also be accompanied by the band’s second film clip. A band notorious for their refined repertoire, song clarity and performance intensity, it is a given Chemical Transport will end up on a stage near you sometime in the near future, for touring and hard work comes natural to these four young men.
