Cheb Balowski, a group of 10 Catalan musicians and a singer of Algerian descent, was formed in Barcelona in 2000. Their music combines Mediterranean, Arab, and Balkan influences, with lyrics (sung in Spanish, Catalan, and Arabic) concerning social issues.
