About Chase Jarvis
Chase Jarvis was born in Seattle, Washington. Chase went to school at San Diego State University; he went on a soccer scholarship, where he received B.A. in Philosophy. Chase got started with photography In a sad way. Chase did not have photography in mind at all; his plan was to go to medical school after he graduated from San Diego State University. But, this all changed when his grandfather died and left all of his photography equipment to Chase. Chase went on a trip to Europe and that is where he decided the life of photography. He started taking pictures of pro snowboarders and skiers in 1994 when he moved to Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Chase opened his own photography studio, Chase Jarvis Photography, after continuing photography while going to the University of Washington for Philosophy and art. Chase Jarvis has photographed a lot of popular places, such as; Volvo, Apple, Nike, Red Bull, Microsoft, Lady Gaga, Columbia Sportswear, Polaroid, REI, Subaru, and Honda. Chase has published two books. The first one was called The Best Camera Is The One That’s With You. He got the idea of this book from taking pictures from his iPhone using his own app called Best Camera, which won the Adorama Photography Award. This book was made around 2009. Chases second book was called Seattle 100. This book is made of black and white photos of people defining Seattle’s Culture. All the money that Chase made from this book went towards charity
