Chahra-Z (born Chahrazad Msellek in Boxtel, 1984) is a Dutch singer from Ravenstein who released several singles in Morocco which reportedly made it to #1. Her first single 'Give It All Up' spent 6 months on the #1 spot in the Moroccan charts after a Moroccan friend sent the demo to the national broadcaster. Her music is a mixture of Arabian sounds with soulful influences from her personal favourites such as Alicia Keys, Lauryn Hill and Aretha Franklin Her participation in Dutch talent shows such as Idols, de Grote Prijs van Nederland and more recently The Voice Of Holland were unsuccessful. In the show's second season she was coached by VanVelzen but she was eliminated in the battle round in favor of Puck Cyson. Her Dutch success seems to have been limited to the underground Urban scene of FunX radio, but her major success in Morocco gives her a unique story.
