About Celestial Mine

CELESTIAL MINE - is from Kyiv, capital of Ukraine, plays original songs English/Ukrainian. Formed in 1990, group initially performed free-improvisated guitar jazz in tradition of 60's, as well their own original tunes English. In 1992 founder and lead-singer of CELESTIAL MINE Yuri visited INDEPENDENT MUSIC NETWORK (Carbondale, IL, USA) to take part into a joint musical project. During the visit Yuri had showed all line of songs created, some of which got recorded for demoing. In 1996 CELESTIAL MINE obtained grant from British Embassy in Ukraine for album recording. First compilation of 11 songs was recorded successfully in four month's. Presentation of MIST OF DANCE album was held in Embassy club with participation of Ambassador of Great Britain Mr. Roy Reeve and press people. Numerous shows were played live and on the air after that. In 1998 album was released on GALAS RECORDS and had good response from different sources. At the beginning of 1997 group closed in recording studio for Ukrainian album SPLYAT YANGOLY (ANGELS SLEEP), which was finished on May 1998. Original sound of CELESTIAL MINE, caused by not usual guitar tuning of the guitarist, sometimes resembles Indian sitar or other nonstandard instrument, but also not willingness to use modern digital equipment or hi-tech gear.
