Cartwheels in Central Park

About Cartwheels in Central Park

Formed in January of 2005, Cartwheels in Central Park are product of subtle depression and hard-core death metal hearts, from the NorthWest side of Houstonian Suburbia. Formed by band members Andrew Wexler and Ian Andersen, using one keyboard, a computer-based drum machine, and the ocassional borrowed guitar. Booked for their first show before being formed, CICP amassed a monumental 9 songs totaling 31 minutes on the demo cd, within one week in order to perform. Due to improper booking, which actually turned out to be fortunate, their first set was a massive three hours, improvisng many now lost classic lo-key indie pop numbers. Playing at local clubs and venues, CICP developed a small but dedicated fanbase. Surprisingly consisting of many people who were also fans of metal. 2006 saw the release of It's not a Coffin, It's a Comfort Zone, an 18 track album, now avaliable online for free at: http://www.cityupsidedown.com The band is scheduled to release a double album in mid-august of two seperate 30 minute CD's compiled by the two members. Cartwheels In Central Park will be on temporary hiatus until summer of 2007.
