About Calvin, Don't Jump!
"Calvin, don't jump!" has been the musical project of J. Kirk Pleasant for the last ten years. It's been described as "psychedelic folk, oblique lyrics". Each album, however, has varied dramatically from the original 'crystal clear mississippi' with it's cacophany of friends and suites, to 'a way with birds', which had consistent musicians on every other track interspersed with instrumentals by pleasant himself. And finally with the latest album, 'conscious of conscience' he is alone in vancouver with none of his friends around him after a traumatic divorce. there is hope on the horizon, with a new wife, new daughter, and new friends, kirk will be revitalizing his sound in the coming months. the sound will change completely into a more electric and eclectic mix. look for a re-emergence coming soon!
