Corey Landis is a singer-songwriter based out of Los Angeles. His latest record, "Corey Landis", features string/woodwind arrangements by Joey Newman, cousin to Randy and Thomas, and fellow film composer. It's a dark, homespun record that hearkens back to '70s efforts of Elton John, Randy Newman, Tom Waits, and lesser-known genius of the genre, David Ackles, Biff Rose, and David Forman. Experty mixed by by Greg Hayes (Tom Petty, Warren Zevon, Bruce Springsteen), the new album, available in early '07, hopes to be the record that bring Landis's wry, unique songs to the folks who having been looking for this kind of album from a contemporary artist.
