About Chitra
Chitra (Chitra Dassapa) is an Indian-American, Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, and producer known for her atmospheric blend of Alt-Pop and R&B. A classically trained violinist and former intern for producer Mark Ronson, she infuses her Indian heritage and Carnatic vocal training into a signature "dark pop" sound defined by cinematic production and raw, industrial textures. She gained global momentum with the viral hit "NUMB," which has surpassed 3.6 million streams, followed by the acclaimed singles "Aftertaste" and "Digital Daydream." In 2026, Chitra continues to thrive as an independent force under 10K Projects, recently releasing the haunting track "Growing Pain." Known for directing her own visuals and maintaining total creative control, she is a defining voice for listeners seeking a blend of cultural depth and modern, moody storytelling.
