About Burning Starr

Burning Starr is a New York City-based heavy metal/melodic heavy metal act that began life in 1984. Formed by Jack Starr, who is well known for his roles in the legendary power/heavy metal act Virgin Steele as well as Phantom Lord and others, the band played a style of metal somewhat similar to Scorpions, Helix and others - very melodic, but technically skilled. in 1985, Burning Starr released their debut album Rock the American Way on Metal Mayhem Records. This was followed by a string of albums, including No Turning Back (a much more metallic offering) and Blaze of Glory. The band broke up after several years, but has since reformed.
