About Buddha's Effin Drunk
Buddhas Effin Drunk B.E.D B.E.D was born in the heart of San Franciscos’s Fillmore District, Born to a father & Mother whom loved Jazz and blues music, he was exposed to some of the greatest jazz musicians known to earth; Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Billy Holiday and so on. Growing in up the Bay area surrounded by an eclectic group of friends hip-hop was a main driving force for him to explore his creative thoughts and experiments with music he preferred to listen to when not amongst his peers in his age group. As hip-hop became the exterior source of creativity, he was always drawn to the moody and sometimes melancholy sounds of artist like Charlie Parker , whom seem to play music with the feelings B.E.D always wanted to express thru his hip-hop music, but in hip-hop, there are sometimes limitations in which Jazz and Blues would never have. When B.E.D was 15 his father had passed away leaving him with a legacy of great music taste and records and tapes that would soon mold this young artist into the incredible creative genius he has become today. As the story goes with any kind of music, pain and sincerity is always felt no matter who you are… “If you use your soul, you music will be felt”. Soon after his father past his mother whom he adored more than life itself , followed his father to there place of rest, but in there absence his soul absorbed what they left him and he has become an artist of unconventional skills and crossed boundaries beyond any artist his age. As hip-hop music changed and became more commercialized and pop, B.E.D found that originality was lacking in his beloved music of his generation. Growing up on such artist as De La Soul, Jungle Brothers, Ultramagnetic, Nas, & Wu-Tang, he felt like it was time for him to explore his more musical side. In a climate where hip-hop artist are becoming Auto-Tune fanatics, and R&B becoming the same ole love song, rock becoming the new pop music of today’s generation, he decided to go out on a limb and just do what hell came natural from his heart and soul. The story goes… One night Buddha was out drinking with Hayzeus and was disgruntle about his so called lady friend not wanting to see him after the bar hopping. So he went home, turn on his computer, warmed up his mic, slapped on some beats he downloaded and came up with some of the hippest and swankiest music since people where wearing all black, and snapping there fingers to applaud great poetry and tunes. Using real life experience and truth about his life and loves, hates and down falls, this may be next form of music to shake the underground and bring creativity back to a music industry hung up on repetition and cookie cutter dance hits. B.E.D gives you great music in all ways shapes and forms, from something to shake your hips to something to remember loves past and times of ole. As you listen you get a glimpse into his childhood of what kind of music he listen to as an infant in the Fillmore district of SF. B.E.D is what they may call trip-hop, or even down-tempo, but he calls it music. No matter what genre you want to classify his creativity, and talent, you have to just admit. It’s feels good.
