This Record is a re-release of a very successful 1978 LP By San Diego trumpeter Bruce Cameron. It features stellar performances by other San Diego artists several of whom (besides the leader) became major figures on the national jazz scene. Carl Evans (Fattburger, Barry White, Stevie Wonder et al), Nathan East (Fourplay, Eric Clapton et al) and Steve Laury (fattburger and nearly everyone else!).All the writing was original within the band and the album received a special editorial in Cashbox magazine, four stars from noted Jazz critic and author Leonard Feather and was BillBoaord magazine's "Pick of the Week"!! among the many accolades it enjoyed. Cuts from it were heard on National Public Radio for years and it was used as theme music for San Diego"s CBS affiliate and was played round the clock nearly every hour on many jazz stations - especially in LA.
