About Broadcast Oblivion
Broadcast Oblivion, formed in the fall of 2002, is equal parts Coady Willis (Murder City Devils, Dead Low Tide, Big Business), Dave Hernandez (Scared of Chaka, The Shins), and Andrew Church (The Droo Church, The Supersuckers). Bringing together Hernandez’ angular pop structures (ala Husker Du) and set over a muscular rhythm section (closer to the James Gang than anything modern), Broadcast Oblivion are very loud and melodic. Their debut Album, Transmita Olvido, clocks in at just over 30 minutes with 10 heavy handed pop songs (OK, so they’re not all heavy handed). Recorded in the spring of 2003 in Seattle, Washington with producer Phil Ek (Modest Mouse, Built to Spill)
