About Breathe Knives
The words evoke an image of an abrasive loud mouth with vile intent. The music that this Albertan trio makes is suitably fitted to their moniker: relentless beats matched with stomach-churning bottom end, feedback drenched guitars and straight vicious vocal attack. The greasiest of film samples set the stage for a hybrid of hardcore, industrial metal and grindcore that fans of Converge, Godflesh, Today is the Day or Brainbombs will all find something to sink their teeth into. Their live shows are legendary after having toured Canada thrice over the last four years – sharing stages with Despise You, KEN mode, Fuck The Facts and Jucifer to name a few. Very early on, this trio attracted the ears of Winnipeg indie label No List Records, a relationship that spawned a split 12” LP (with death metal grinders Kataplexis), a re-release of their 9-song demo as well as their latest three-song 7” “Helen Keller”. BREATHE KNIVES will be touring coast-to-coast this summer so keep your ears close to the ground and your earplugs even closer. This is one live band not to be missed.
