About Borrowed Sparks
Mike Bay, AKA Borrowed Sparks, was born into a house that spent it's sleepy Saturday mornings escaping the worries of the weekday with records from artists like The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Inundated from an early age with great American songwriters, he absorbed the sounds and the songs that would pass the test of time and prove to become a kind of cryptic road map to place he didn't yet know he was going. During his teenage years Bay found the first music he would call his own; Punk rock. Around the same time getting his first electric guitar. After learning to harness the power of these things and logging countless miles as a guitarist for other artists on the road to their dreams, Bay, writing under the moniker "Borrowed Sparks" is ready to take you with him on the road to dreams of his own. Throughout Borrowed Sparks' debut EP songwriter Mike Bay attempts to reach deep into both sides of his musical upbringing and distill a small batch of songs that harnesses their spirits. With its classic instrumentation and well-thought lyrics fans of Americana, Singer-songwriter, Roots Rock, Folk and Punk, will find a home in Borrowed Sparks' new EP.
