About Bomba de Luz
Bomba de Luz is a group of four high school students from St. Paul, MN. They began playing small shows at their high school's small theater. From there on, they have played two festival shows and their name continually grows. Lead by folk rock songwriter, Lydia Hoglund, the trio of jazz musicians including Gavin Taylor-Stark, Jonas Taghavi, and Evan Slack create an atmosphere of jazz-folk. Lydia Hoglund carries with her a husky, heavy voice, far beyond her teenaged years. Their influences come from all over the place, since they all listen to a large pool of music, but mainly it can be said they derive their sound from Jeff Buckley, Wye Oak, Mumford & Sons, Florence & The Machine, Laura Marling, and countless other artists.
