About Bob Dylan & George Harrison
It is a testament to both Bob Dylan and George Harrison that they were able to book an entire day at a studio and come away with nothing usable. Both artists were bi-products of the 60s music scene, Dylan for his solo work and Harrison for his work with the Beatles. The session took place on May 1, 1970, and consisted of Dylan taking vocals and Harrison taking lead guitar. Unlike the Dylan/Cash sessions the year earlier, which involved the two artists each holding the spotlight for the same amount of time, this session saw Harrison playing the role of back-up musician. The two would work together a year later in 1971 when Harrison organized a benefit concert (probably the first of its kind) for the people of Bangladesh.
