About Blue Funeral

Blue Funeral is a one-man band by mastermind Tom from The Netherlands and started in 2007. After two years of recording demo’s, Blue Funeral released it’s first (download only) EP “Fast Or Slow”, including the song “If He Makes You Happy”. A song inspired by synthpop music of the 80’s (Depeche Mode, New Order, Tears For Fears). In September 2010 the debut album “Thoughts Of The Damned” was released as a physical cd and digital download (iTunes, Amazon, eMusic, BF Music Store). “Thoughts of The Damned” got positive reviews and UK Website Leicester Bangs said it was surprising that Blue Funeral is a one-man band. The website reviewed the debut album, saying: “Blue Funeral does have an identity, and the strong material is the key”. Three singles were taken from the debut album and are still available in the Blue Funeral music store. “Better Off Dead”, “Love Will Be The Crime” and “Few Regrets” prove that Blue Funeral had, indeed, some strong material and it made “Thoughts Of The Damned” a successful debut. In January 2011 Blue Funeral released a free 3-track download EP called “Strange Voodoo”, while working on the second album. The second album “The Darkness Waits For Me” was released on May 2nd 2011 as CD (special edition book) and Digital Download. The album includes one of Blue Funeral’s most successful songs: “Winter Tears”. “Winter Tears” went on to be number one on Radio Dunkle Welle (Germany) for two months and made Blue Funeral featured artist of the month at the German radio station. In June 2011 Blue Funeral released the single “Dancing In The Snow”. One year after the release of the 'Darkness Waits For Me' album, Blue Funeral came up with it's third album called 'A Perfect Year Will Come'. The album's style was quite different from the first two Blue Funeral records. The songs had a much darker sound, were more piano based and very melancholic. NowTuneIn.com reviewed the album, saying "A Perfect Year Will Come is a well rounded CD from a promising performing artist. Most of the pieces were loaded with feeling taking steps away from regular routine. If your a fan of ivory hitting with melodic sounds then this one is a fit for your collection". In 2013 Blue Funeral released a synthpop album called "HEAPHONES". Blue Funeral started as a synthpop act and this album goes back to that feeling. Inspired by the typical new wave/ synthpop from the 80's, the album was recorded with vocals, synthesizers, keyboards, vocoders and drummachines. In May 2014 Blue Funeral released the EP, called "Good Day". July 2015 will finally see the release of a full new Blue Funeral album. The first single "The Beating Of My Heart" is out now!
