1. French mathematician, physicist, inventor, writer and Catholic philosopher from the 17th Century. 2. Female pop singer from Toronto, Canada, who in 1996 won the grand prize (out of 4,000 entries) in the sixth Annual National Songwriting Competition, and came in second overall in the first John Lennon Songwriting Competition. She released one album, entitled Hairspray, in 2000. 3. 90s Indie rock based out of Vancouver, BC. They released "E-Filter EP" CDEP on Friendly Bag and "Foreward" lp/cd on their own Cave Canem Records. They also contributed a track to the "A Day in the Park" compilation. Guitarist/vocalist Nic Bragg went on to play guitar in Destroyer.
