About Beggars Fortune
Beggars Fortune is a band comprised of four talented musicians in Nashville, TN. Steve (lead vocal, guitar), Dougie (bass guitar, background vocal), Jeff (guitar, background vocal), and Ryan (drums, percussion) have been playing together since 2000. This band of brothers seek to enrich the lives of their audience not only by entertaining, but by reaching them on a deeper level. With music that beckons your ear, Beggars Fortune’s melodies will make you want to sing along; their lyrics will make you think; their performance will leave you craving more. A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE BAND: Beggars Fortune's success as a band comes from their strong sense of brotherhood on both personal and musical levels, stretching back as far as 1997. The band officially formed in 2000, as they began to combine their musical art together into one sound, and that sound has led them to international success. With their ability to write captivating anthems that connect to all ages and backgrounds, Beggars Fortune has thrived throughout the cafes, clubs, and festivals they have encountered in an endless pursuit to bring their music to their fans. As soon as the band formed, Beggars began touring the eastern part of the United States. The list of cities includes Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Memphis, Birmingham, Atlanta, Panama City, Ft. Lauderdale, Key West, most of the hot spots in-between, and of course, their home, Nashville, Tennesse - "Music City U.S.A". In 2004, Beggars Fortune embarked on their first European tour that spanned across 12 countries and lasted six solid months. This tour included shows on street corners, schools, pubs, cafes, Army bases, churches, clubs, and festivals. With this tour, Beggars developed an amazing amount of street credit that even after three years, Beggars have been given the "2007 Band of the Year" by "Hlas Muziky" in the Czech Republic. With the demand for Beggars Fortune on an extreme rise in Europe, the band toured three more times in 2005, debuting their album "Talking Into Air". 2005 was a huge success for Beggars as their five months on the road in Germany, Switzerland, and the Netherlands included an assortment of press conferences, live radio interviews/shows, CD release parties, amusement park performances, main stage festival performances, and working with the U.K. band "The Delgados." The guys returned home at the end of 2005, and immediately began their eight months of recording the 2006 CD release, "Get in the Car and Drive." Just days after the CD was finished, the guys flew back to Europe in the summer of 2006 to spend five more weeks touring throughout Germany promoting their upcoming CD release. The tour included more amusement park shows, the Volvo Surf Cup, the Kite Surf Trophy, German Sailing Grand Prix, a World Cup celebration party, and all the Hard Rock Cafes throughout Germany. "Get in the Car and Drive" was released September 17th, 2006 and Beggars followed the release with a Fall 2006 European tour. All of this was done as an independent band. In 2007, expect Beggars Fortune to continue their passion to give their fans all they have. Four European tours are being scheduled, CD promotional tours in the States, the release of "Get in the Car and Drive" in the States and a new unexpected CD release for Europe in late 2007.
