Lineup: Nicolai Munch-hansen (bass) Jakob Bro (guitar) Jakob Dinesen (sax) Jeppe Gram (drums) web: www.jakobbro.com/ Formed in the late 90s, Beautiful Day has turned out to be a central meeting point and artistic playing field for saxophone player Jakob Dinesen, guitarist Jakob Bro, bassist Nicolai Munch-Hansen, and drummer Jeppe Gram. Since the band’s debut the individual members have all been engaged in various projects and constellations, playing everything from rock and pop to avant-garde, old school jazz and electronica – still Beautiful Day has remained a core activity to them, and so far the activities of this combo have resulted in four quite different albums. Listening to Beautiful Day’s releases, one finds a natural progression from an early rock-inspired sound and attitude to a deliberate change in the direction of a more subtle and acoustic scenario. In this way, one of the great achievements of the band has been their potential for constantly refining, developing and redefining their artistic means over the years.
