About Basement Music

One night while Clay and Matt were at Taekwondo, before they knew each other, Matt heard Clay mention the name Kevin Kohl. Matt said to Clay, "How do you know Kevin?" Clay mentions something about how they went to grade school together. Matt then asks, "Do you happen to play drums?" and strangely enough Clay says yes. Clay is then asked to join a band with Kevin and Matt and they started practicing about a month later (around October of 2004) at a place called The Band Center. Sometime around January of 2005, Basement Music experimented with a second guitarist, but found it wasn't their style. The member later was let go from the band. In summer of 2005, the band flirted with breaking up, but after a few weeks of being unsure, they regrouped. On September 10th, 2005 the band went to Walls Have Ears studios in Milwaukee, WI and recorded drum tracks for three songs, Polly, 1232, and Dirty Youth. These tracks were produced by Mr. Bill Smith and Mr. Bill Stace. No further work has been done on these tracks. On June 15th, 2006 Clay quit the band. No news on who will be drumming yet. Kevin and Matt started a new band called "Umm..." Check them out.
