Bandanaira is a jazz-inclined music duo from Indonesia. Consisting of Lea Simanjuntak in vocals and Irsa Destiwi in keyboards, they recently gave Indonesian music world a much-needed refreshing surprise with their first album "The Journey of Indonesia". The title said it all. "The Journey of Indonesia" is a strong anthology of Indonesian folk and nationalistic songs composed mainly in jazzy style. Lea's powerful vocal gave the flair to Irsa's beautiful composition in piano. Sometimes showing hints of bossanova, their music is a unique appeal to all who love the likes of Basia, Astrud Gilberto with an added drive of power singers like Aretha Franklin and Celine Dion. Certainly one to watch.
