About Bad Hair Day & The Cardinals

Like many stories, the story of BHD&TC starts in a pub in Valkenswaard (NL). Martijn Neggers just bought a new saxophone and was starting to learn how to play the knobs. Together with Pim Heesterbeek (also in the pub) he decided to start a band. They figured it would be hard to start a band with only two people, so Pim eventually called a good friend called Tijn Driessen (because he's always in for another musical adventure). Along with Yvette they formed the jazzformation "Kans Gemist" (wich means as much as "change missed" and was refering to the 'missing' bass guitar). But that 'missing' bass guitar was soon found when Daan Rohof came to one of the rehearsals. He just started playing some acoustic guitar for fun and during the rehearsal he played a couple of tones on the bass guitar. He liked it, they liked it; so after a couple of beers: a bass guitarist was born! Yvette had other priorities, that's why she left and the guys decided to play reggae. And that's what they still do... Bad Hair Day & The Cardinals is their name nowadays and they play reggae with a slightly influence of rock music (especially for Daan and Pim). Big it up for the cardinals! More info can be found on their Dutch website...
