About Backside Disaster
Backside Disaster was a straight edge hardcore band from Portland, Oregon. They formed out of hardcore punk band National Guard, changing their name and playing their first show Backside Disaster on New Year’s Eve 1996. This name change also marked a shift towards a much heavier sound reminiscent of many other west coast straight edge acts at the time, particularly the New Age Records roster. Their last show was on April 1, 2000.
