About Assmatix
ASSMATIX is a punk band from Dortmund / Germany. The group was founded as "Die ASSMATIX" in 2002 by four musicians, each of them playing for over 25 years in different German punk and hardcore bands (such as THE IDIOTS, RIM SHOUT and more). The band's name derives from the chronic illness asthma, as two of the members are asthma sufferers. Today, ASSMATIX has 5 members (voc., 2x guit., bass, drums). Their music is a mixture of 77 punk rock, early eightys brit-punk, hardcore and sometimes some metal influences. The lyrics vary between personal and political. Up to now two albums have been released: In 2002 (still as Die ASSMATIX) the 6 track CD "No Time" and in 2004 the 9 track CD "Live Fast, Die Old". The new album "As(s)ymetrical" appeared in the middle of 2008 and contains 10 own songs with some influences of the whole punkrock history.
