Their music is a combination of jazz fusion and progressive rock, and their debut album Tilt is highly regarded in the progressive community. The band was formed by drummer Furio Chirico, who had previously played with I Ragazzi del Sole and Martò e i Judas; other personnel has varied, usually including Gigi Venegoni (guitar, synth), Beppe Crovella (keyboards), and Marco Gallesi (bass). Among the connections for A&M members are a number of other Italian bands: Il Sogno di Archimede, Procession, Venegoni & Co. , Romantic Warriors, Tower, Mosaic, Errata Corrige, Esagono, and Cantina Sociale.
