Arthur Dodge has been receiving positive accolades for years. CMJ declared, "Arthur Dodge can rock with a sincerity akin to Neil Young and early Springsteen". No Depression said Dodge's 1997 self-titled debut album contained "pleasant surprises", while Sound Views claimed Dodge and the Horsefeathers "are my favorite Great Plains purveyors of gnashing, oh-so-slightly twangy guitar-rock". The band has played with Lucinda Williams and Soul Asylum, and also performed a number of high-profile shows at events like South by Southwest and the CMJ Music Festival. Arthur Dodge's debut also won three Klammies, The Pitch Weekly newspaper's regional music awards.
